Bucharest: British Arab Network Chairman speaks at Levantine Initiative Conference on cultural diplomacy
26 Nov 2017, by In the Media -This week, Dr. Wafik Moustafa, Chairman of the British Arab Network, delivered a speech on cultural diplomacy at the Levant Initiative for Global Peace Conference held in the Romanian parliament in Bucharest. The conference was hosted by the Institute for Advanced Studies in Levant Culture and Civilization and chaired by its president Emil Constantinescu, who is a former president of Romania. The event was attended by the former presidents of Croatia and Moldova, senior diplomats, politicians, academics and civil society leaders.
On attending the event, Dr. Moustafa said:
‘I was delighted and honoured to attend the Levant Initiative for Global Peace Conference and would like to thank President Constantinescu for hosting it. It was a dynamic and productive event. Cross cultural and interfaith dialogue is key to achieving reconciliation and peace across the world. Cultural diplomacy is central to promoting the ideas of pluralism, tolerance, and freedom in the Middle East”.
