British Arab Network Chairman condemns EgyptAir Highjack on Islam Channel
01 Apr 2016, by In the Media -Dr. Wafik Moustafa, Chairman of the British Arab Network, has condemned the EgyptAir hijack in an interview on the Islam Channel.
Dr Moustafa said he condemned the hijacking and that he was relieved that it had ended peacefully and without loss of life. He argued that Egypt should seriously review its security procedures and compliance at airports. He added that the hijacking had caused collateral damage to Egypt’s tourism industry.

An Egyptian hijacker who forced a domestic flight to land in Cyprus used a fake suicide belt, officials said.
His motives remain unclear but the Cypriot president said the incident was not terrorism-related.
Footage released by Egypt’s interior ministry shows the man passing through several security checks at Alexandria’s Borg El Arab airport.
The drama ended with all passengers released unhurt at Larnaca airport and the man giving himself up.
