Dr. Wafik Moustafa, Chairman of the British Arab Network, has called on Egypt’s President Sisi to reconsider his foreign and domestic policies. He said that the conflict with Qatar and the comments crising Gulf states made in the leaked audio tape was not conducive to creating an environment, which helped the Egyptian people. Dr. Moustafa said that the internal repression and  human rights abuses against democracy activists and political opponents had to end. All political prisoners must be released and trials must be fair and conform to international standards. He also said that the Egyptian Government’s unilateral air attacks on targets in Libya recently was not carried out in consultation and co-operation with other Arab states and therefore could prove to be counter-productive. Civilians were probably killed and the lives of one million Egyptian’s living in Libya may now be in greater danger.
